Has a book ever inspired you to change anything in your life, fiction or non-fiction alike?
Unfortunately, truth IS stranger than fiction. The reality of the Holocaust having occurred during my parents’ lifetime is such a scary fact. How could something so horrendous happen in the modern world?
The book Night by Elie Weisel is the most earth-shattering story I have ever read. Mr. Weisel’s inspiring life story stays with me to this day even though I read it around 12 years ago. No one can possibly read it and not be affected.
The mental images remain. Imagine walking through snow with rags tied around your feet, seeing your father die at the hands of Nazis, and the unbelievable hunger. Shocking, moving, unthinkable and real. I vowed to not let petty problems seem like catastrophes, as not much can compare to the suffering victims of the Holocaust endured.
My original review was short and simple, “This is the best book I’ve ever read bar none. It makes you appreciate your life like never before.” I still think so.
